Website Analysis: The Ring

http://thering.asmik-ace.co.jp/

"The Ring" website uses the stereotypical dark colours to represent what genre the film is and links the film and website together. Using the red text across the bottom of the page, even thought the font size is small, grabs the viewers attention, leading them to see '5.2 video & DVD on sale' this shows the audience that they can buy things from the site . The colour red connotes blood and this is important when showing the genre of the film. Although the page only uses a small amount of red text on it, the web page uses hints of red flashing behing the images on the screen. this attracts an audience to different parts of the web page. For example the word ' download' flashs red to grab the audiences attention and making them click on the worg to find out what they can download.

By using the circles on the top left of the image we can tell the pencil marks are important . The marks add familuaraty to the web page as it graphically matches the circles on the trailer, through the mirror and the well in the film.

When hovering over one of the images we can see it turn the blood red colour. It also shows a word appear, when hovvering over the tree, the word 'child' appears. when hovering over the circles the word 'mother' appears. This shows an audience they can choose what page they want to visit. This means the audience have a veriaty of things to look at.

The dark colours suggest sinister goings on. Although diverting to the next page of the website, the same layout is used to accustom the audience so they can identify the layout and website easily. The audience can then establish what they want to on the page and then find out all the infomation they need/ what to know.
the black background is constantly used throughout the website to make each page link together. the white text on the background also shows consistantcy throughout the
